Obedience lessons are geared towards pups 4 months + and cover the topics below:

Leash/Heel work

Sit

Stay there

Recall/Whistle

Leave It

These are offered as treat-free, and the methods are based on our body-language and cues to communicate, but adding limited treats is never discouraged with young puppies. These include a set of online videos covering each topic (demonstrated with treats).

There is also the option to extend the obedience lessons and incorporate breed-specific goals you may have (all require treats). We can tailor the classes to interact through activities they naturally enjoy and set you up for future training in:

Agility (foot target method, 2 on 2 off, body awareness, familiarization with equipment, & cue words)

Barn Hunt (moving around straw bales, tunnels and climbs, basics of scent work/ find-it).

Shed Antler  (easy retrieves, visual antler recognition, intro to antler scent, bring/hold/give).

By giving your dogs obedience skills, you can have calm, confident, well-mannered dogs who you enjoy spending time with! These are examples of my dogs in public, walking nicely on leash, waiting while at a cafe, and taking the shuttle.

RALLY - O

We offer Novice Rally Obedience

Generalize skills you've practiced indoors, to outdoors.

There's nothing in dog training that's quite as important as a good recall. Finding safe places to practice is so valuable, and we have a variety of areas for that very purpose so that you can gradually increase the difficulty and distractions.

- enclosed pasture (fully meshed & gated)

- on a walk

- long grass area (May-Oct).

Topics covered:

Using a long-line
