Why Herding?

Herding dogs crave a mental challenge, they want to problem solve and have a job - in the modern context, they don't always have the benefit of access to sheep, so the outlet for this can take less desirable forms (like nipping), or results in nervousness and reactivity that simply shouldn't be there. Thankfully, herding dogs in the Calgary area have The Meadows! We'll help you shape your dog's innate ability to read and apply pressure to stock, in a calm, gentle, and stress free manner. Regardless of if they're a strong-eyed breed like Border Collies or Kelpies who thrive on distance work. Or upright breeds like Belgian Sheepdogs, Corgis, and Aussie Shepherds who use motion to motivate stock and are ideally suited for pen-work.
